In a life-threatening emergency please call 911 or go to your local ER.
There are several ways to reach your doctor or therapist. For most general calls it is easy to leave your care provider a voice-mail message. Call our general number (630.653.6441) and enter their voice mail extension. Voice-mail is checked Monday-Friday, typically until 5 PM. You can also dial our general number and press zero to reach the receptionist if you find it difficult to use voice-mail.
For emergencies during business hours, press zero for the front desk. After hours (or if the font desk doesn't pick up) you can call our answering service at 630.682.2841 and they can page your provider directly. Please use this option only when absolutely necessary as it is very disruptive.
On weekends (Friday 5 PM to Monday 8 AM) psychiatrists rotate call. The covering doctor can be reached by calling the answering service (630.682.2841) if your problem can't wait until your treating doctor is back on duty. The weekend on-call doctor does not have to refill prescriptions. If they decide to do this they will only give you enough medication until you can get a refill from you treating physician (usually one to two days). Therapists and psychologists typically do not rotate weekend calls. They can be reached via the answering service (630.682.2841).
Remember that you can always leave your provider a voice-mail message 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for non-emergency concerns. A message left during the weekend will be check on the following Monday.
