Michael A. Kuna, M.D. is a graduate of Northwestern University Medical School and their Evanston Hospital Residency Program. He is board certified in psychiatry, board certified in addiction psychiatry, board certified in addiction medicine and certified by ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine). Dr. Kuna treats all types of psychiatric illness in adolescents through adulthood including mood disorders, anxiety disorders and thought disorders. He is a specialist in addiction treatment and works extensively with patients who have dual diagnoses (the combination of an addiction plus a psychiatric disorder). Dr. Kuna has authored educational materials for both professionals and lay people, including a DVD on depression. He is the Associate Medical Director of Genesis Clinical Services. In addition, he is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Rosalind Franklin University, The Chicago Medical School.
